3 Month Pictures

We had Caroline's 3 month pictures done at Moseley Studios while we were home for Christmas. Thanks, Nad, for teaching me how to capture the images off of Mike's website! =) p.s. These images are copyrighted, so please don't print them. Contact me if you want to order any of these and I'll forward you the info. Enjoy!

Sweet Taters

Our little sweet tater ate her first sweet taters today and LOVED them! She had half a container and would've eaten more. We didn't want to overdo it. =)

Leg Warmers

I've been wanting to try out baby leg warmers, but they're so darn expensive! I found these on clearance at Target and decided to give them a try. WE LOVE THEM! Her legs are warm and I don't have to fight with pants during diaper changes. They will protect her little knees from carpet burn when she starts crawling, too. These are my favorite baby product of 2009 (so far). . .and they have boy patterns, too. =) Check her out...

Tag. . .You're It!

Tagged by Stephanie

Rules: Write 6 random things about yourself, link the person who tagged you & post the rules. Tag six people...

1. I'm a little OCD (which is no surprise), but I can't stand to have dirty dishes in the sink and I must wash them before bed.

2. I'm an impulse shopper.

3. I own all four seasons of "Felicity" and every couple of years I will re-watch them. . .marathon style.

4. I've been rappelling and even jumped face first off a bridge. . .all while tied in a Swiss seat!

5. I have a black thumb. . .I've even killed a cactus.

6. Hearing something being stirred (spoon scraping a bowl, sour cream tub, etc) makes my skin crawl. Just thinking about it makes me want to throw up!

I tag Meri-Ann, Marie, Kristy, Jayme, Nadia, and Pam.

Solids

Caroline had her first try at solid food tonight. She had several bites of cereal before her bedtime bottle. She was confused at first, but I think she started to get the hang of it toward the end as she kept opening her mouth for the spoon and she tried to lick off the cereal. She made a bit of a mess and it was so cute! We'll keep trying. . .

First bite

Not so sure about this stuff. . .

Maybe it isn't so bad after all!

New Toy

Caroline has found something new to play with. . .her feet! She loves to grab at them and I've even seen her put them in her mouth! That's no surprise as we saw her sucking her toes while still in the womb (gotta love ultrasounds)!

4 Month Well Baby

2 Month Stats

Length - 24 inches - 95%
Weight - 13 lbs, 1 oz - 97%
Head circumference - 39 cm - 50%

4 Month Stats

Length - 25 inches - 75%
Weight - 14 lbs, 5 oz - 75%
Head circumference - 40.5 cm - 40% (the doc says this one is probably not accurate since she was such a wiggle worm during the measurement attempt)

Caroline had a very rough day today. The doc gave her a great report, but she got 4 vaccines. We've been dealing with our first real fever (thanks for the advice, Morgan!) and a very cranky little girl. After a few hours of cold rags on her head and body and some Infant's Tylenol, I think we've got it under control. It's now 10:30 pm and she just went to bed! Let's hope this fever is broken and our little angel gets some good rest! She deserves it! =) Now what you've all been waiting for. . .pictures!

Teething

Caroline has started teething. . .she hasn't been too cranky, but the waterworks have started! You can see a little white spot on her bottom gum, but the tooth hasn't broken through. Check her out. . .

Something new. . .

After getting advice from Caroline's pediatrician and after talking to lots of friends with little girls, I decided to go ahead and get my baby's ears pierced. After Jacob's birthday party on Saturday, we headed over to the mall to Claire's. Tammie and Alina went with me to offer moral support (Ryan couldn't handle seeing her cry. . .Daddy is such a softie!) and things went off without a hitch. Alina held Caroline so that I could keep her distracted and I think she was more upset about having her head held still than about the pain of getting her ears pierced. She only cried for a minute and was back to her happy self! I think it might've been worse for me than it was for her. We'll keep the starter earrings in for 8 weeks and then she can wear her new diamonds! She looks so pretty, don't you think? =)

Date Night

Ryan and I went on our first date since Caroline was born. Friday night we went to see "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" while Caroline stayed with her first babysitter. Our dear friend Alina and her daughter Soli took good care of our baby while we had a romantic dinner of Chinese food (eaten in the line while waiting to pay for it) and a chick flick (which Ryan watched without complaint). Caroline was a perfect baby (like always), but I think Alina would've liked it if she had stayed awake longer! Alina will be deploying with Ryan, so we'll have to take advantage of her while she's still here. There will hopefully be another date night soon! =) Thanks, girls!

p.s. It was 80 degrees here on Friday, which is why Caroline is in her adorable summer dress! Saturday's high was 52. . .gotta love Texas weather. . .

Home Sweet Home

We arrived back in Texas after a two day drive to discover one more present from Santa! I put it together immediately (what a beast!) and Caroline LOVES it! This should keep her entertained for quite a while. . .

Highlights from Alabama

Our trip (which we thought would be a vacation) was a very busy one! After a VERY long drive and 12 days at home, here are a few highlights. . .

-Caroline got to meet lots of people for the first time: Clay and Nadia, Aunt Jaki and cousin Alex, Rex and his family, Aunt Wanda and Uncle Shawn, Papa, the Steeles, the Rays, all the people at Enterprise Chevrolet, the McKinneys, Auntie Carol, Auntie Sarah, Angela, the Bocks, Molly Schellin, and Rusty Locklar.

-we had Caroline's 3 month photos taken at Moseley Studios in Elba (pictures to follow soon)

-I decided to whack off all of my hair (since it was falling out anyway). . .THANKS, NAD! =)

-Celebrated Grammy and Grampy's 40th Wedding Anniversary

-Celebrated Uncle Eric's 35th birthday

-Caroline rolled over from back to front, but hasn't done it again. She's growing up so quickly! =(

-Most of all, we enjoyed spending time with our family and friends and we're looking forward to doing it again soon!

Auntie Sarah

Sarah came down from Columbus on New Year's Day to meet her Goddaughter. We had a wonderful day and she even brought presents! We can't wait to see you again. . .we miss you already!

Christmas Day

Christmas was a relaxing day. . .I think it was the only day we didn't leave the house. My Dad came over for Christmas dinner and to meet his granddaughter for the first time. We had a great time!

Christmas Eve

First we went to my Mom's for Christmas Eve dinner and we ended the night at the Ray's Christmas Eve party. So fun!

The Stelkers

Ray, Jayme, Caeleb, Alaura and Hailey came to visit us the Sunday we left for Alabama. We didn't leave until 11:00 pm, so we had all day to catch up. It was wonderful to see them and I'm thrilled that they finally got to meet Caroline. I think Ray was quite taken with her. . .he snuggled with her a lot! We had lunch with Marie, Ray's Dad and Grandma and Kenny at Rosa's (which was delicious as always). I wish we had been in town a few more days, but our time together was priceless! Thanks for swinging by on your way to Corpus! We sure did enjoy it! Miss y'all! =)

First of all. . .

I must apologize for taking weeks to post. Christmas was CRAZY BUSY and I've spent the week we've been home getting the house back in order. So now that the apology is out of the way, let the posting begin! =)
